Traveljarvis
Traveljarvis is a space where I share meaningful stories, practical insights, and real travel experiences.
My goal is simple:
to help travellers plan smarter, travel deeper, and enjoy the world with more clarity and confidence.
How Traveljarvis Works
Most destinations on Traveljarvis come directly from my own travels and first-hand experiences. And for the places I haven’t explored yet, I collaborate with trusted locals who actually live there — because real insights from the ground are always better than generic travel guesswork.
Every guide clearly mentions whether it’s based on my own journey or local expertise, so you always know where the information comes from.
My Story
Hi, I’m Anuj Puranik — a travel expert, tour manager, and adventure professional who has spent more than a decade living a life shaped by the outdoors and the joy of discovering the world one place at a time.
I grew up as the kid who was always outside — choosing open skies over screens and adventure over comfort. That curiosity slowly turned into a career where travel isn’t just something I do, but something I understand, teach, and share.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working across some of the most dynamic segments of the travel industry:
- Barefoot Scuba – PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor – My professional story began underwater. I spent a part of my life in Havelock (Andamans), teaching scuba diving in some of India’s most pristine waters. I’ve dived around Barren Island — India’s only active volcano — and had the rare chance to dive alongside Rajan, India’s iconic ocean-swimming elephant. These years shaped my love for the ocean and my respect for nature.
- Temple Pilots – APPI Independent Paragliding Pilot – From the beaches to the skies — flying across different parts of the world has been one of the most freeing experiences of my life. Paragliding over the Himalayas remains one of my most humbling memories.
- Thomas Cook – International Tour Manager – My shift into mainstream travel began here — leading groups across the world, managing on-ground logistics, and ensuring smooth, unforgettable travel experiences for hundreds of travellers. This role taught me resilience, people skills, and what it really takes to run a successful trip on the road.
- Virgin Voyages – Shore Excursions Specialist – Switching from land and air to sea, I worked with Virgin Voyages to curate and support global shore experiences for their cruise guests. This role strengthened my understanding of destination design, cruise operations, and large-scale guest experiences.
- Nordic Visitor – Travel Consultant (Sales & Operations) – At Nordic Visitor, I work as a travel consultant specialising in the Alps and Nordic regions. From designing detailed itineraries to managing operations and delivering personalised experiences, this role has refined my skills in trip planning, client care, and travel product development. It also continues to give me the opportunity to explore new regions and understand travel from a global perspective.
A Personal Note
I come from a humble middle-class family, and every opportunity I’ve had is because of the sacrifices my loved ones made. Travel has given me a bigger world, but their support is what gave me wings.
Thank you for visiting my space. I hope the stories here inspire your next adventure.
